300 - Halloween 2009

Okay, so this 300 scene was a surprise I threw in for the wife... I knew she had trouble deciding, and this pattern was just so kick-azz!! It turned out really well I think.

And for the Lovely Wife... Labyrinth - Halloween 2009

The wife had to request a pattern where I actually had to create the pattern myself... she loves to challenge me, right?! This scene is from a promotional from the 80s Jim Henson fantasy 'Labyrinth'. Gotta please the wife!

Everybody Loves Snoopy - Halloween 2009

Who doesn't think of Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang on Halloween? I picked this cute cut-out of Snoopy valiantly fighting the Red Baron for the baby of the family.

The Fairy - Halloween 2009

This intricate 'butterfly' fairy pattern was requested by the 4 year old & she just loves it! Combination of cut-out and shading techniques. This one left my hand sore for about a week!!

Lady & the Tramp - Halloween 2009

This cut-out of Disney's Lady & the Tramp was requested by the oldest of my girls. Also done on a faux pumpkin.

Captain America - First Carving of the 2009 Season!

This was the first carving I did this year. It was also the first attempt to do a pattern in the 'faux' pumpkins that you can buy from a local crafts store. Captain America with his shield seemed like a cool one to start with!

Thanks for looking!

Halloween 2009

Here is the 2009 Halloween line-up! This year I shifted from using real pumpkins to the artificial pumpkins you can buy at the craft store. This way, we can keep them for next year! Every year I plan to build on the collection... I carve a pumpkin for all my kids and my wife. Eventually, when the girls leave the nest- they can take their pumpkins with them when they go- a great start to their own collection!
